The first equipment is the racquet. This is the tool that is used to hit the ball across from one court to the other. Racquets are normally made of plastic though there have been metal and even wooden ones. It has a handle and a neck that joins an ellipse shaped net made of tightly pulled strings.

Then there are the tennis balls. These are made of hollow rubber with a felt coating. Traditionally white was the main color of the ball until it was changed to optical green to improve the balls visibility.

To win a tennis match you have to win the best of three out of five sets. In most tournaments, the first player to win three sets wins the tournament.
